The GISS technology has been applied to a variety of metals and alloys such as aluminum, magnesium, tin, copper, silver, and zinc in different applications. However, our main customers are in aluminum die casting of automotive parts.

Automotive part die casters often face problems with gas porosity, shrinkage porosity, and leak related rejects. The reject rates (NG rate) of these types of products may be as high as 10-40%, resulting in high profit loss. After applying the GISS Technology, these customers have reduced the reject rates to a single digit in most cases. As side effects, they also reduce their cycle times by 15-25%. With the combined effects of reject rate reduction and cycle time reduction, the productivity has been improved by 30-50%. In addition, the life of the dies of some customers has been extended to more than 300,000 cycles.

We have worked with several die casting parts for the last three years with the shot weights from 100 g to 60 kg using the die casting machine sizes ranging from 125-T to 6,000-T. Several of these parts have been in mass productions for more than three years.

Currently, there are more than 160 GISS Units in 14 countries around the world, including Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, India, Turkey, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil, Italy, and the US. Key customers include Toyota Motor Corporation, Hyundai Motor, Foxconn, and LG Electronics.
